Running Extension Cord In Wall

I know that i can do this with the low voltage hdmi cables but i am wondering if i can run a good commercial grade extension cord behind the wall as well so that i can hide the tv s power cord.

I would like to hang it and hide the wires behind the wall. Luckily there are code approved installation kits for running power up inside a wall that do not require and electrician. 3 where run through doorways windows or similar openings. Might be safe as can be but i wouldn t do it. Why is an extension cord unsafe when it is behind a wall but safe when it is laying on your floor. I found this box and my idea was to mount this on the back side of that same wall then run the power cable and other cables like ethernet and audio through a hole in the wall to the back where i can plug everything in without having a wire mess in the front.
