So here s the deal.

One or more of the following can collect in a vent line and completely clog it.

Unplug it and if it s a gas dryer turn off the gas valve as well.
The plumbing vent stack.
It doesn t cover the vent pipe above the fitting.
If any shingles are covering the vent or the screws that attach to the guard peel back the shingles.
Cleanouts with plate style access covers shall be fitted with corrosion resisting fasteners.
Step 1 look up on the roof from the ground below and locate the vent pipe s position.
The vent goes up through the roof and the waste water goes down to the sewer or septic system.
